This is a great opportunity for a summer intern to learn the design, production, sales and quality aspects of the Pratt business. Our co-ops work closely with the General Manager, Sales Manager, Quality Manager and Design Manager.
The assignment runs from January 2023-July 2023
Learn to spec out boxes
Run the CAD table
Fill out DRQ's
Understand different board grades and their uses
Learn basics on routing and machinery
Learn basics on graphics
Learn different box styles and their uses
Insert load tags
Work in Assembly
Exposure to the paper trail throughout the plant
Learn about quality requirements and checks Understand the roles of each machine
Learn the roles of different jobs in plant
Understand the roles of each machine
Understand the flow of material throughout the plant
Understand the scheduling process
With scheduler's help, schedule the plant
Develop list of leads for each sales rep and attend the cold calls
Understand the role of the sales team
Learn VMI process for various customers
Attend sales meetings
Understand sales vs. budgets
Ride with sales team members to meet top 20 customers
Gather feedback on current plant performance
Gather feedback from customers on what they look for in a supplier
Learn the role of the quality manager, daily duties
Assist in quality audits, sorts, etc.
Perform process audits
Learn the steps required by ISO guidelines
Study MFG Gap and print registration utilizing statistical principles
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Be enrolled in college education or heavy college coursework in the field of drafting, design, and engineering.
Good communicator with customers and sales staff.
