Green Bay Packaging Inc. - Wausau Division is an industry leader in the production of corrugated shipping containers and sheets and is seeking a qualified individual to join its Design Team.
Job responsibilities include the following:
Design and develop new and revised packaging, while offering improvements for cost reduction, performance enhancements and innovations
Produce samples and small production runs of prototypes on the CAD table for testing purposes; writing and transmitting specs as requested
Improve existing packaging with innovative solutions, this will include customer site visits and the ability to perform packaging audits at their location
Coordinate with tooling suppliers
Travel with Sales Reps to customer locations when required
Develop strong, internal working relationships to support and promote efficient and accurate responses to Customers, Sales, and Operations departments
Assist with routine lab functions
Seeking recent or upcoming college graduate with the following qualifications:
Bachelor's Major or Minor in Packaging Science, Packaging Engineering, Industrial Design, Visual Communications or Graphic Design with structural or packaging design education or internship experience, or related education.
Strong verbal, written and electronic communication skills along with the ability to work closely with internal and external customers
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and its applications, CAD, Artios or related CAD, Adobe Illustrator, Cape Pack, and/or TOPPS and cutting table
Knowledge of box plant machinery, tooling, and processes including scoring, machine capabilities/limitations, spec sheets and drawings
Knowledge of various paperboard stocks, board grade combinations, corrugation and printing processes
Class room or internship experienced in operating sample cutting table
Knowledge of corrugated industry, working POP knowledge a plus
Strong cognitive and math skills
Demonstrated ability to think in 3D
Must posses the ability to work independently as well as in a Team environment
Able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
