Job Summary: The Test Lab Engineer will support operation and quality by providing information to internal and external customers by performing laboratory tests, analyzing data and documenting results
Test Lab Engineer Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Provide technical support expertise to internal and external customers
Conduct physical testing on containerboard, corrugated board and corrugated containers.
Conduct tests such as: Squareness, Board Combination, Compression, Edgewise Compression, Pin Adhesion, Ring Crush, and Cobb
Analyze and report results of tests to assist internal and external customers with quality related issues.
Coordinate trial processes for departments by creating plans and collecting samples
Operate general lab machinery operation such as: Vibration Table, Drop Tester, Incline Impact, Compression Tester, Emerson Apparatus, Sample Cutter, MBR Device, Dead Weight Micrometer
Perform projects that support the company’s operational objectives.
Maintain and calibrate testing equipment
Set up and maintain customer accounts
Perform other duties as assigned.
Laboratory environment with exposure to manufacturing area.
Routinely uses testing and material handling equipment

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Bachelors Degree in Packaging, Engineering, or related discipline
Educational or student intern experience in testing corrugated packaging
Practical understanding of statistical analysis.
Working knowledge of TAPPI, ASTM, ISTA procedures
Ability to recognize different flute sizes
Physical ability to safely handle test materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
Excellent Math ability
Excellent communication skills
Strong attention to detail and documentation skills
Proficient Data Entry skills
Strong organizational and analytical skills
