At Smurfit Kappa North America, we open the future for talented graduates who are looking to start their careers within an innovative and excellence-driven organization. Our Graduate Trainee Program is designed to develop capable individuals who are ready and able to step into key positions within our organization.
The program offers two different avenues for graduates to pursue:
(1) Consists of four, six month rotations across different business units and functions throughout the organization. Over the course of two-years, Trainees will be involved in individual and/or group projects, as well as daily activities, which allow them to apply knowledge, skills, and abilities learned in college, along with developing new skills. The location and department for the different rotations will be selected based on the Trainees’ individual career objectives and goals.
(2) Specializes in one function allowing the Trainees to launch their career in the area of their choosing. Functions include finance, sales, human resources, and environmental health & safety. Over the course of one year, the Trainees will participate in an array of projects across different levels of the organization to follow their passion.
Both avenues of the Graduate Trainee Program will provide the Trainees with guidance from their mentors and coaches who facilitate and encourage personal and professional growth. Learning occurs primarily through on-the-job experience, and is supplemented with training and development activities.
The Graduate Trainee Program allows for an enriching experience in a multinational environment with potential assignments in Texas, California, Arizona, and Mexico. Trainees will have the opportunity to complete the program in multiple locations for the duration of the avenue they choose to participate in. Location assignments will be mutually decided after the Trainee accepts the position offer.
Graduate Trainees are encouraged to follow their dreams with Smurfit Kappa, allowing them to prosper within their chosen career.
