We are seeking resumes for a Packaging Designer Internship (1 Opening) in our New Oxford, PA Specialty facility.
Description of role: Under direct supervision the Packaging Designer Intern is responsible for supporting the design departments programs, activities, and projects. The Packaging Designer Intern provides administrative support to the Design Manager and Designers in the implementation of projects and assignments. Most responsibilities will be assisting on design projects, low level profile accounts project development with a need for oversight.
Organizes, coordinates, maintains and retrieves all department, vendor, client and project data and files including archived client project and graphic files.
Organizes, delivers and retrieves samples and designs to and from customers.
Maintains and purchases plant cutting die inventory.
Documents results of package and component testing.
Provides hands-on support to the design process.
Addresses any requests from designers, cross department employees and customers.
Provides office assistance including answering phones, delivering messages, organizing equipment.
Knows and follows policies and procedures of the company, shares information that would benefit other members of the team and finds ways to improve the delivery of service to our customers.
Strives to continually strengthen PCA’s business philosophy of meeting needs and exceeding expectation for customers specifically supporting PCA’s Commitment to Service which involves doing what’s right for our customers, focusing on strategies that add value and support growth, and keeping the promises that we make.
Position is under direct supervision and exercises limited independent judgment. Typically the duties and tasks are varied but standardized. Incumbent is expected to observe and proactively fulfill the department’s administrative needs. The individual may resolve routine questions and problems but will refer more complex issues to the Design Manager or the Designers.

High school diploma or equivalent required, some college preferred. Studying a degree in Graphic Communications, Packaging Science/Engineering preferred.
Computer proficiency in Microsoft Suite especially MS Word and Outlook.
Strong organizational skills
Able to work in a fast paced environment, prioritizing assignments, and handling multiple tasks simultaneously.
Strong attention to detail.
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with individuals throughout the company on departmental procedures, policies, and requests for information.
Previous work experience as a member of a team, or a strong understanding of the importance of open communication and information sharing between team members.
