Established in 1882, The Lawrence Paper Company is a leading independent manufacturer of corrugated boxes and retail displays. We offer a broad range of some of the most advanced capabilities in the industry, allowing our Designers to turn their ideas into production ready pieces.
We are currently seeking a student intern in our Lawrence, Kansas facility to assist in our Design Department in Summer 2018. The opportunity will allow the candidate to learn more about the corrugated packaging industry and develop skills in a professional setting. The position will allow you to see what it takes to turn conceptual ideas into physical production pieces in a sophisticated manufacturing environment. You will learn the importance of both structural and graphical design in today’s ultra-competitive retail environment.
As a student intern you will learn the critical components to develop packaging (fit, form, and function) and gain a thorough understanding of corrugate material and how to best use it for protection, stability, and aestetics.
During the student internship/co-op you will interact with multiple internal teams (Sales, Technical Services, Production) to collaborate and gain their perspective in the design process.
We have a small team of Designers and everyone helps everyone else out. The intern will be mentored and supported by this team and will integrate into it. As they build and develop their foundation additional responsibilities may be added.
